Euro Girl Denise the Artiste - Rick St-Dennis

Image
Hi everyone!  Hope you are all doing fabulous.  Today I'm here to share with you a very messy little journaling out of the box that I made for Sparkle and Glitter blog using the fabulous  Euro Girl Denise The Artiste . I say journaling out of the box because I have been making little journaling cards to place into an old disquette box.  I still have to embellish the box but I think it's very fun to make those little tiny journaling cards.  I'm using an old kid's game to journal on!  So recycling at it's best!  Love when I can transform something. Anyway I have made a little video of my process including my finger painting :) And here's the little card for you to see. The image was colored with my copics and then fussy cut out.  I used some die cuts made with my Impression obsession die as well as a bunch of different sentiments that I have cut out of magazines. The splatters were done with a toothbrush. I had lots of fun making this as you can s

Julia Spiri new release - My heart

Image
Hello!!!!!  How is your week going?!?  I'm doing good.  It's Thursday and we are getting closer to the weekend!!!  Woohooo :) With this being said it's time for a new release over at Julia Spiri .  And this new release is just perfect for Valentine's day.  The one that I used is called My heart. I made a little video of my process for this. I made a little journaling out of the box for this. I had lots of fun making this with some paint, some homemade stencil out of a piece of paper that I had punched out.  The flowers are from my stash as well as the little pearls.  I made the heart with a die cut from Marianne's dies. The text is from a magazine.  The image was colored with my copics and then fussy cut.  I also used some scrap papers. I'm entering this in the following challenges: Crafting by designs  - Add a flower Moo-mania  - Use your scraps The sisterhood of crafters  - Love - I used a heart as well as the word love but in French :) Word

Image
Hello everyone!  Hope you are all doing good.  I decided to use my 2nd make of the month for Art by Mi Ran  another birthday card.  What can I say I have lots of lovely friends who's birthday is coming up. For this make I decided to play with the adorable  Gina . I really love playing with this image.  And wanted to make her colorful because well it's winter here and pretty dreary.... and grey.... and I miss the green and pretty colors can you tell?!?

Little Angel wings

Image
Well it's Monday.... and that means back to work!  But that's ok because I really love my job.  But it means that I can't craft.... that's sad lol. I do have something to share with you however.  I have been doing a little series of journaling out of the box.  That means that I have found fabulous boxes to store little individual journaling pieces.  I have already shared my little journaling.  Now I'm sharing my big journaling :)  For this make I thought it was very fitting for the 1st one to be with a great image that I won at the Besties' Spanish challenge!!!  I just LOVE THIS IMAGE.  And I hope you will as well. I have made a little video of my process that you can see here.  This will show you my BIG box :)  And maybe you can tell me what this was used for! The background for this is a cereal box.  I just LOVE recycling and since I have started doing mix media I seem to see the world in a different way. Here is my little make I colored the image

Snowball Fighter Christmas card

Image
Well hello everyone!  This is just one of those little post out of the blue just because I found a great digi online on Facebook here . And this was a great opportunity to make a little Christmas card.  This card is one that is really really really filled with lots of layering!!!

Rick St-Dennis - Zombie Choir boy

Image
Hello!  It's time for me to host the  Airless Chamber  and I wanted to share with you what I have created.  I love journaling but there are days when it's harder to have inspiration. So I prepared a little Out of the funk Jar with the fabulous Chorus Boy.  Unfortunately the digi that I used is now retired but you can find some other great ones in the shop  here . I have also made a little video that you can find here And here's a closer look at the jar that I recycled.  It was previously the house of nuts.... bwahahahahah fitting right?!?

Sparkly baby Fairy bug ATC

Image
WOW it's so fun to just make stuff for the fun of it.  Just because you feel like entering in some challenges that you have not played in for awhile!!!  And this is what happened here.  I wanted to make a little ATC because I have not made one in awhile and I went to check out my favorite challenge for them which is  Wicked wednesday atc  challenge. And this time around it's make it sparkle. And there's another great challenge going on over at  Mos digital challenge  and for that challenge it's Anything goes so long as you use Mo's digital image. I made a little video of this process and you can find it here. And here is my little ATC for you all sparkly but you can see the sparkle better in the video.  The little image was colored with my copics and some stickles for the wings.  I fussy cut him out after. I really love how he turned out because the background is a recycled piece of cardstock from a packaging and the rest is just sookwang tape with some gl

The East Wind - Transformation

Image
OMG the time is just flying out of my hands.... I realized that I totally missed the posting of this last Tuesday.  I was sure that the release date for this fab image from The East Wind was this Tuesday.  Imaging my surprise and disappointment with myself when I realized that I missed my posting date... :( But I had just had to share with you what I did with the fab Transformation image . This image really called to me!!!  It seemed perfect to illustrate all the transformation that I've been going through! During the holidays my dad gave me something to hold my dolls head... yeah I know spooky and weird but I still have to figure out what to make out of them.  Anyway in the meantime I have something to hold them.  But that came wrapped up in newspaper!!!!  And the newspaper was from 1985!!!!!  YES that was a great find!!!  I was as happy with that as with the gift lol.  It was all yellowed out!!!  And just YUMMY. So that's what I'm using for my background here.

Handmade little journaling tags

Image
WOW I always end up miscalculating my crafting makes.... Yesterday I decided that I wanted to do some homemade journaling tags because I really want to make some new altered book journal.  I think they are super fun to make! So I found a bunch of quotes that I liked.  I wrote them in a word document. Then I found some new free font to use to make them because I wanted some different font and if I was going to do this I wanted to make 4 sets.  At that point I had the brilliant idea to make 2 more set of each so that I could put some in my etsy store... that's when my idea went on the crazy side I think lol.  Because each set has 10 tags... so multiply by 4 that meant already 40 tags.... multiply by 3 sets and now you have 120 tags.  YIKES it's a good thing that I didn't do the calculation before hand because I wouldn't have done them lol but I'm happy that I did so now it's all good (wasn't yesterday however because my arms were killing me) The next step

SLS Lines - Love birds floral set

Image
Hello everyone!  This is my very last post as a DT for SLS lines !  It's been a really fun adventure but now it's time for me to move on.  I will totally miss this great group and would highly suggest that you apply to the DT call because you will LOVE it!!!!!! For my last post I wanted to make something that I could send out to a friend.  That is one of the new resolution that I have to send out more mail to friends.  So I'm trying to make smaller items that will be appreciated :)  I used the fabulous  Love birds floral set  because all the fab elements are precolored so it makes it very easy to use.  I actually prepared the entire tag on my computer and then printed it out!!!  Easy peasy. I actually used 2 different hearts from the set and put them in different size.  I also used the little birds and put them on the little branch that is also in the set.  Once it was printed I distressed the edge of the tag and put a little bit of twine.  The sentiment is from  Cr

Scribbles Challenge- Show some heart

Image
Hello!  It's time for a new challenge over at  Scribbles Designs Challenge .  This time the challenge is about showing some heart!!!!  So I thought this was the PERFECT opportunity to make some little valentine card for my little niece and nephew!!! For the 1st make I'm sharing my little nephew's card.  He totally loves cars and trucks so this was a no brainer I just had to creat with the great  Hearts Truck .  I did it on a smaller card than what I usually use because I wanted to avoid extra cost.  I tend to send big cards and it's costing me a lot in postage... so I will try this year to make them smaller and send some more often instead!!! The paper was some left over that I had from last year.  I added some washi tape and the image was colored with my copics.  The sentiment is from  Create with TLC . I'm entering this in the following challenges: Drs designs blog  - Heart to hearts Fab n funky challenges  - For a child Great impressions stam

Sparkle and Glitter progressive challenge - January midway post

Image
It's time to share with you some inspiration to get you to participate in the latest progressive challenge over at  Sparkle and Glitter challenge . For my make I had decided to play with the fabulous  Portia .  I have to say that I really really really adore the fab hat ladies that Rick does!!!!  And this one is totally awesome. I had purchased a little brass frame in need of love at the thrift store and I decided to update it to frame her :)  You can see this on the following video. I have put this little frame up in my Etsy store here .  I used a bunch of different paints on it and to really get the process well it's better if you go and check it out on Youtube :) But here it is.  The image itself was colored with my copics.  I used my Gelly Roll all over the fur and the furry part of the hat!  I used my Nellie's ovals to cut out the image and I used some peeled paint distress ink on the edge.  I put it on a paper that I thought would be perfect for th

Image

Oddball - January FB challenge midway post

Image
Wow already the time to share with you my midway post of January for Oddball !  It seems like time is flying by so very fast. For this post I decided to finally get around to doing the 1st prompt of the year that Journal 52 gave which was Word for 2016! My word for the year is Acceptance.  And by that I mean accepting myself as I am and stop feeling guilty or that I'm not good enough!  I need to convince myself this year that I am worthy and that I am enough!!! This doesn't mean that I won't work hard on a bunch of my issues (for example patience which is lacking... lol) but it means that I really need to also accept myself like I would any of my friends.  I tend to want too much of myself and that is not good and it ends up in a bad spiral. I used the great image 171  to make this because I wanted this little girl to look chocked that this was my word :)

Willow - Art by Mi Ran

Image
I have some friends' birthdays coming up and what better image to use for them than an A rt by Mi Ran ?!? For this make I decided to play with the adorable  Willow . I also decided to tape my making of this card.  It's the 1st time that I make a video of the making of a card.  Hope you like this. In case you don't watch the video here is my card.

Postcard humour

Image
Yesterday I had some time to play and I decided to participate in a challenge that I am following but that I don't participate in enough!  That's the Sunday postcard challenge .  I want to do more mailing to my friends and I thought this would be a great way to do one just because for the fun of it :) For this make I decided to use a great image from Oddball called  image 140 . The challenge over at Sunday postcard is about Comedy.  Well I think this is pretty funny :)  I used a bunch of papers that I had in my stash as well as a magazine cut out that I had a little piece left and I tore the sentiment out.  It's from  Ginger house .  I doodled with my sharpie pen and also did the edge.  The sentiment was edged with a prima chalk ink.  The image was colored iwht my copics. I had so much fun doing this and I really hope that the person that I send this too will like it as well. I'm entering this in the following challenges: Sunday postcard art  - Comedy/Humor

Journal out of the box

Image
Hello!  I had some time to play today (Sunday when I was writing this) and I had purchased some fabulous digis from Sassy Cheryl while she was having the 50% off sale.  I got one that's called Engineer some fun Noah.  Well that totally made me think of my hubby that's an engineer!!!!  So I had to get it! And last friday as a little treat to myself I stopped at a local thrift store and purchased a few items!  I really wanted to make a journal out of a box.  By that I mean that I wanted to have some means to journal but not in a book and more into something that I could put in a box afterwards :)  I found what I was looking for and if you watch my video you will hear more about it! And here's what my 1st make looks like!!!  I used a stencil from Andy Skinner that I purchased this week at my local craft store.  I also used a bunch of different paints from the dollar store, some newspaper that was treated with gesso and sprays as well as some tissue paper.  I finished thi

Vicky - Karleigh Sue Inspiration post

Image
OMG did you check out what the fabulous Cheri did for me?!?  Did you?!?  There's a brand new digi that's called Vicky and it was made based on my request and picture :)  I just have to admit that this digi  Vicky  is much better than the original model that's me lol.  And I just had to do my 1st post for the inspiration blog with it. My inspiration was a hippie because well I was born at the end of the 60s and that was the type at the time.  I also love that type of clothing and the loose and flowery stuff.  I don't know what happened to me this year but I'm all about tuniques and loose flowing tops :)  but I don't look that sexy hee hee hee. Anyway I just HAD to play with my digi!!!  And I thought I would share with you what I made.  I used a great background that I had made in a class using some silks paints.  I did that background while at a class at Scrapbook Central.  I had not used silks before.

You and me challenge

Image
Well today I was busy playing with the goodies that I got from my swap partner for the You and Me challenge.  You can find the video about this here.  And the group on FB is here . There's a list of goodies that you are supposed to send your partner and with that they are supposed to create 2 index card.  One for them and one for you.  I have received an awesome envelope this week from my partner (I'm very sad to say that my partner as yet to receive hers.... don't know why it's taking Canada post so very long....). And I really wanted to make this in my usual crafting space which is my Laundry room/craft area instead of the garage where I usually film my stuff.  I have an Ipod touch and I mentionned to my hubby how I would love to be able to film with it.  And how could I possibly install it so that I could... at which point he just mentionned how I should use a "selfie stick".  Now I usually know about new "gismo" but I must have missed this on

More Mixed Media challenge - Blue

Image
wooohooo it's time for the start of a new Mixed media Challenge !!!  I just love doing mix media so couldn't resist applying for this :)  Especially since it goes monthly so that's ample time to make some stuff. The theme for the 1st challenge is Blue!  So that's super easy to play with us. For my 1st make I decided to alter a book and make it a journal :) I have made a little flip through of my make that you can see here: If you want to purchase my journal you can find it in my Etsy store here . Here's the front of the book.  I have added a little bookmark and bling to the outside as well. Here is the side view so you can see how chunky it is :) And some of the inside where I used mostly blue papers to fit the theme of the challenge. I hope that you will like this little make that I did :)  Have a fabulous day and do come to share with us your makes!!! Hugs
